How Much Lower Can We Go?

12 Tamuz 5777

Two articles caught my attention and made me ask myself how much lower can our people go?
N. CAROLINA PRIDE PARADE SET FOR YOM KIPPUR, DISAPPOINTING JEWISH MARCHERS
“It’s very disappointing to us. It’s another example of our calendar not being respected,” said Adam Organ, Executive Director of the Raleigh-Cary Jewish Community Center.
...Several Jewish groups have marched in the parade in recent years.
Carolina Jews for Justice said in a statement that: “No group of people, Jewish or otherwise, should have to choose between our LGBTQ identities and the other identities that are important to us and shape our lives.”
What are they upset about? That the holiness of the day is being marred by the public celebration of what is sin even for gentiles? No! They are upset that if they go to pray in the synagogue on Yom Kippur, they will be forced to miss out on the celebration.
Bentching on a Treif Hamburger, RL
by Rabbi Yair Hoffman for the Five Towns Jewish Times
A RELIGIOUS FRIEND WHO WORKS in an office in Manhattan related the following story:
A formerly observant colleague came into my office and said, “You are going to find what I did this past Shabbos pretty bizarre. I had a Slider at White Castle – and they are the best burgers by the way – before I took a trip. After I ate the burger, I bentched and said Tefilas haDerech.”
The incident is certainly quite sad. It should motivate us all to double down our efforts in bringing our estranged brethren back to their Torah birthright. The episode, however, does bring up a halachic question. Should someone who has consumed a treif burger bentch afterward?
What the rabbi in the article does not address is the additional question of saying Tefilat HaDerech before traveling on Shabbat

If the man had any yirat Shamayim, he would have been too ashamed to address HKB"H in the midst of his sinful behavior. Without yirat Shamayim, why pray at all? Better not to draw attention to yourself.

  1. Not sure if this is relevant to your post, but Rabbi Mizrachi explained (al pi haTorah) that even the thief who wants to break in and steal from your home says a bracha that he should be successful. Rabbi Mizrachi also explained that while one is on the decline there is no hope to bring him back, but once he hits bottom that’s the time the person is ripe for change/teshuva. Jews that never were exposed to yiddishkeit and don’t know anything, they are ripe to learn from the very beginning. One can apply this to the world as a whole (like in the times of Noah), once it reaches bottom Hashem will force Teshuva.

There is a new law in Canada that if one refuses to use the “new terms of gender identification” that one prefers to be addressed, they will be arrested and brought to court. This is politically correct “new language” and a perfect example of “you will do as we want you to do” because you have no rights of freedom anymore.

    1. It is even worse in Canada than you think. The sodomite government of Ontario under the leadership of a sex-pervert just passed new law #c89. According to this law it is illegal for parents to fight their children gender-confusion. If a little girl thinks she is a man or a boy thinks he is a girls parents have an obligation to put them through hormone therapy and gender-reassignment program. If parents fail to comply they will be charged with child abuse and children will be taken away by the very powerful gestapo-like Child Protective Agency. It is not a joke. This is enlightened and tolerant and Canada today.

  2. Here is another one - Secular Judaism

It’s time to understand that secular Judaism is the biggest and most successful stream of Judaism, and we won’t let anyone take that away from us, the same way we won’t let anyone take Judaism away from us. Because the Jewish world is not a 15th century Polish “Shtetl,” the Jewish world includes everyone that defines themselves as Jewish, and all the different ways of being Jewish. Without this diversity, there is no state of Israel and there is no Jewish people. And we won’t let anyone destroy the Jewish people and the State of Israel for cheap politics.

So much ignorance, so much disinformation. I don't have any more strength for responding.

  3. I never dreamed that articles would have to be written about such nonsense. We have definitely reached the 50th level of impurity. G-d saves us!

  4. Just notice that politically correct attitude leads to language restrictions and imposing a censure for critical thinking.
Public language, I argue, is a cognition-enhancing tool — external artifact whose current adaptive value is constituted by its role in re-shaping the minds of populace. Therefore, the use of public language had profound effects on cognitive development. The idea here is to depict public language "not as a tool for representing the world or expressing ones thoughts but a tool for effecting changes in one's environment". And that's already Gog Magog war on your mind. We all have to be strong to hold to the truth and not to loose our focus, so not to be drifted away into this insane world of lies.
