The vessel left the port of Jedda (Saudi) on its way to the UAE. Do not think it was a US vessel. It's a Hamburg company working out of Singapore. Iran is stoking the fire with lies. Sorry could not paste the link.
One report said it was a "US-protected" cargo ship. That's why the captain radioed the US Navy for help.
