ParObama being painted into a corner

12 Menachem Av 5772

Only a blind person could fail to see that literally everything about the Pollard affair is/was out of the ordinary. So much so, that there is obviously a Divine agenda at work here.

To some, Jonathan Pollard is representative of Klal Yisrael - a Yosef figure - imprisoned and enslaved in Egypt. Especially as high officials in the US government have indicated that Pollard long ago paid the price for his crimes and that now he serves as a valuable political bargaining chip essentially making him a hostage.

The frequent comparisons between President Obama and Pharaoh of old round out the picture.

Like the Pharaoh who refused to let
Bnei Yisrael go free, his successor refuses to let Pollard go free. And like Pharaoh before him, ParObama is going to find himself painted into a corner - into a smaller and smaller space - until the only maneuver he can make is to set Jonathan Pollard free. Recent events prove that this is so and that the pressure is increasing.

Book bombshell: Obama canceled Bin Laden ‘kill’ raid three times at Jarrett’s urging

“President Obama’s greatest success was actually his greatest failure,” Miniter told The Daily Caller Friday. ”Leading From Behind,“ he said, traces the arc of six key Obama administration decisions, and shows how the president made them — and, often, failed to make them.

Another chapter, he told TheDC, concerns the push to pass the Affordable Care Act. The president, Miniter said, was less interested than then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in passing his own signature legislative achievement.

Osama bin Laden steered the global operations of the al-Qaida terror network until his death last year at the hands of the U.S. Navy’s SEAL Team Six. The president and his surrogates have made the terrorist leader’s death a focal point in Obama’s re-election campaign, painting Obama as a decisive leader who took down America’s greatest mortal enemy.

An ill wind blows between US and Israeli intelligence
The acrimony reached a nadir with an unusually detailed Association Press report on July 28 quoting anonymous sources as stating, “The CIA considers Israel its No. 1 counterintelligence threat in the agency’s New East Division,” - the group that oversees spying across the Middle East.

Prime Minister Binyamin’s Office reviled its content, including allegations of Mossad intrusions of US officials’ homes, as “a lying report.”

This leak had two objectives, says DEBKAfile:

1. To deter US presidential candidate Mitt Romney from using his visit to Israel Sunday and Monday July 29-30 to promise, if elected in November, to review Jonathan Pollard’s life sentence for spying for Israel, which all previous US presidents have refused to do at the CIA's behest. It has been suggested that he may be considering going on record with this pledge to win Jewish votes.

2. To hit back at the Israel watchers dogging the footsteps of CIA agents planted in a widely-flung undercover network for picking up any clues that Israeli preparations for a unilateral attack on Iran’s nuclear program are moving into operational phase....

Rudy Giuliani: Obama’s No Friend to Israel

As Mitt Romney was making his way to Israel, Rudy was in Boca Raton, Florida talking about Obama’s failures in foreign policy, with special emphasis on Israel. The money quote from this video: “Debbie Wasserman Schultz said that Barack Obama is a friend to Israel. I said that’s a joke. . . . If you were a friend of the State of Israel, you would not be trying to push them back to borders that make their country indefensible.”

Subcommittee to Discuss Government Actions for Pollard

The Security, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Subcommittee of the Knesset State Control Committee is scheduled to hold a hearing, Tuesday morning, on a request for an opinion by the State Comptroller on government efforts to secure the release of Jonathan Pollard, ....

Netanyahu's Men No-Shows at Pollard Session

MK Uri Ariel (National Union), who chairs the Knesset's State Control Committee, accused two of the officials closest to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's of deliberately stalling regarding a debate on the situation of Jonathan Pollard.

Ariel said at a session of the committee devoted to the subject of Pollard that he has been trying for months to get the two men – Cabinet Secretary Tzvi Hauser and Diplomatic Adviser Ron Dermer – to reach agreements on Pollard and set a date for a discussion. The two have refused these advances, he said.

..."It is not true that the state has done everything within its powers [to free Pollard]," he said. "It is a very grave matter that the Prime Minister's advisers, who coordinate all of the official actions on the matter, avoid giving the public an account of their efforts."

MK: Netanyahu must 'unmask' US spying on Israel

If US President Barack Obama does not commute the life sentence of Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard by the November 6 US election, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu should expose American efforts to spy on Israel, National Union MK Arieh Eldad said Tuesday at a Knesset State Control Committee meeting monitoring progress in efforts to bring about Pollard's release.

Eldad noted an Associated Press report over the weekend about a break-in at a CIA-owned apartment in Tel Aviv. While the report sought to prove that Israel was monitoring American intelligence operatives, Eldad said it should have raised the question of why the US was operating in Israel.

If Obama realizes that he needs American Jewish votes or money, there is hope to bring about Pollard's release by November,” Eldad said. “But if not, Israel must remove the [US's] mask. They say one of the problems of the Pollard case is that countries do not spy on their friends. It's time to say out out loud what the CIA was doing in that apartment and what is happening on the roof of the US embassy in Tel Aviv. They are spying on a friendly country.”

Eldad blasted President Shimon Peres for receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Obama at a June 13 ceremony in Washington, calling it shameful for him to accept the prize while Obama was preventing Pollard's freedom.
