All of the R. Nir Ben Artzi posts have been removed, including the archive. Although I disagree with the meanspirited tone of the post, I have to agree with Shirat Devorah that: "...he is walking like a duck, talking like a duck, and therefore I can only assume that he believes he is a duck." And Hashem has clearly indicated through this very public failure that he is definitely not a "duck."
As previously indicated, I also had my doubts, but I believe that nothing should be ignored and everything should be investigated. I no longer know whether what concerns the Jewish people should be made available in English. I'm leaning towards "no." We have our own language and that's good. What concerns only us should remain strictly among us, in my honest opinion. The Sages mourned that even the Holy Torah was ever made available in the languages of the nations.
The strength of our faith must rest on the Truth and on the reality, not a vision of how we would like things to be. And as long as that is the situation, when raised hopes are struck down, we can remain steadfast and firm and continue to watch and wait and give each new thing the benefit of the doubt while we investigate it's veracity. Because ONE DAY, Hashem will bring us the real deal and we don't want to dismiss it out of hand because of previous failures which were sent to us as tests.
Shavua tov, Chodesh tov!
