America has ALWAYS been the enemy!! "It's a law. Eisav soneh et Yaakov!"
Head-on COLLISION in Washington
1. Call with a [full] throat, do not spare, like a shofar raise your voice, and relate to My people their transgression, and to the house of Jacob their sins.
2. Yet they seek Me daily and they wish to know My ways, like a nation that performed righteousness and did not forsake the ordinance of its God: they ask Me ordinances of righteousness; they desire nearness to God.
3. "Why have we fasted, and You did not see; we have afflicted our soul and You do not know?" Behold, on the day of your fast you pursue business, and [from] all your debtors you exact [payment].
4. Behold, for quarrel and strife you fast, and to strike with a fist of wickedness. Do not fast like this day, to make your voice heard on high.
5. Will such be the fast I will choose, a day of man's afflicting his soul? Is it to bend his head like a fishhook and spread out sackcloth and ashes? Will you call this a fast and an acceptable day to the Lord?
6. Is this not the fast I will choose? To undo the fetters of wickedness, to untie the bands of perverseness, and to let out the oppressed free, and all perverseness you shall eliminate.
7. Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and moaning poor you shall bring home; when you see a naked one, you shall clothe him, and from your flesh you shall not hide.
8. Then your light shall break forth as the dawn, and your healing shall quickly sprout, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the Lord shall gather you in.
9. Then you shall call and the Lord shall answer, you shall cry and He shall say, "Here I am," if you remove perverseness from your midst, putting forth the finger and speaking wickedness.
10. And you draw out your soul to the hungry, and an afflicted soul you sate, then your light shall shine in the darkness, and your darkness shall be like noon.
11. And the Lord shall always lead you, and He shall satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; and you shall be like a well-watered garden and like a spring of water whose water does not fail.
12. And [those coming] from you shall build ancient ruins, foundations of generations you shall erect, and you shall be called the repairer of the breaches, restorer of the paths, to dwell in.
13. If you restrain your foot because of the Sabbath, from performing your affairs on My holy day, and you call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord honored, and you honor it by not doing your wonted ways, by not pursuing your affairs and speaking words.
14. Then, you shall delight with the Lord, and I will cause you to ride on the high places of the land, and I will give you to eat the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
by Mark Pearlman of JInsider
This week JInsider offers a different perspective on the observance of Tisha B’Av by using the Days of Creation as a basis for understanding Jewish history. This column is primarily based on Rabbi Pinchas Winston’s thoughtful and inspiring articles. Rabbi Winston is a world-renowned author and lecturer and has written more than 25 books.
Days of Creation as Framework for Jewish History
Kabbalah explains that the history of the six millennia is really just a repeat of what occurred during the Six Days of Creation: Each day of Creation alludes to a thousand years of our existence, and every little detail that occurred on these days has had or will have its corresponding event happen at the proportionate time during its millennium. We are currently in 5769—the sixth millennium and thus experiencing the Sixth Day of creation. According to Rabbi Winston, by using this framework for viewing our history and our future, we are able to improve our perceptions about reality and better understand our role in the world.
The Temple Destruction (Fourth Millennium)
As we commemorate Tisha B’Av, we reflect on two Temple destructions occurring in 3338 and 3830 (the fourth millennium). This time in Jewish history corresponds to the Fourth Day of creation, which is when the moon and stars were put in orbit. According to the Talmud, the moon represents the Jewish People. So, if the light of the moon were reduced on the Fourth Day of creation, then the light of the Jewish People would have to also be reduced, in some way, in the corresponding fourth millennium of history. There is no more effective way to dim the light of the Jewish People than to destroy their Temples.
Creation & Current Times (Sixth and Final Millennium)
Rabbi Winston believes the Internet is a modern-day reincarnation of the Tree of Knowledge. If indeed we are reliving Creation, it’s a well-timed assumption: 1990 (around when the Internet really became popular) began the 83.33-year period that corresponds to the Tenth Hour of Day Six of Creation, during which Adam ate from the forbidden fruit and God exiled humanity from Paradise (Sanhedrin 38b and calendar calculation by Leshem Shevo v’Achlamah: Rabbi Shlomo Eliyashiv, 1841-1925).
“The Web is so all encompassing, so all involving. It is, to date, the ultimate technological coup allowing man to break through more physical limitations than any other invention to date,” Rabbi Winston says. It is incredibly empowering and therefore so attractive: “The woman saw that the tree was . . . an attractive means for gaining understanding. She took some of its fruit and ate” . . . (Bereishis 3:6) A tree of knowledge it is for sure. Of good? For sure. Of evil? Without a doubt. The greater the good technology allows us to accomplish, the greater the evil it makes possible.
In other words, like the Tree of Knowledge, the Internet begins an unstoppable chain of consequences, both good and evil, with one bite/byte. Rabbi Winston feels that this time around the Moshiach is going to come fix the problem – and soon. Says Rabbi Winston: “If the Moshiach is the tikkun (healing) for history, then doesn’t it make sense that his arrival should correspond with some kind of rectification of that original mistake?”
Final Thought: Tisha B’Av v. Yom Kippur
After Tisha B’Av, we try not to have an elaborate meal to break the fast. Unlike the conclusion of Yom Kippur, there is nothing to rush home and celebrate. The goal of Tisha B’Av is only partially accomplished — mourning for what was lost in the past — while the main objective remains unfulfilled: The Return of the Temple. Once it does, the celebration will be beyond imagination.
During Yom Kippur, there are often wet eyes. For many, it is easy to feel that they are being judged; they feel the potential for a negative judgment and therefore, difficulty in the upcoming year. They cry for their lives.
On Tisha B’Av, however, a wet eye is harder to find, since we are only mourning the loss of what once was, and we seem to be able to live without a Temple (or so we think). Intellectually, we should be quicker to cry over the loss of the Temples and what they represented and made possible than for our own personal futures. However, emotionally, especially after living in exile for so many generations, we have difficulty putting the national needs of the Jewish People before our own.
The Prophet Yeshayahu (Perek 2, Pasuk 19)---
And they shall come into the caves of the rocks and into the hollows of the earth, because of the fear of the Lord and because of the splendor of His pride, when He rises to break the earth.
The Prophet Yeshayahu (Perek 13, Pasukim 6-13)---
Lament, for the day of the Lord is near; like a raid from the Almighty it shall come. Therefore, all hands shall grow feeble, and the heart of every mortal shall melt. And they shall panic; pangs and throes shall seize them; like a woman in confinement they shall writhe; each man shall be amazed at his fellow; their faces are faces of flames. Behold, the day of the Lord is coming, cruel with wrath and burning anger, to make the land desolate, and its sinners He shall destroy from it. For the stars of the heavens and its constellations shall not allow their light to illuminate, the sun has become dark in its going forth, and the moon shall not shine its light. And I will visit evil upon the earth, and upon the wicked their iniquity; and I will cut off the pride of the presumptuous, and the arrogance of the tyrants I will humble. I will make mortal man dearer than fine gold, and man [dearer] than the collection of the gold of Ophir. Therefore, I will make heaven quake, and the earth will quake out of its place, because of the anger of the Lord of Hosts, and on the day of His burning wrath.
Many "experts" are predicting two great events for the Fall of 2009---the collapse of the US dollar and an Israel/Iran War.

If you do the research, you will find other examples. Additionally, the Web Bot Project finds language to this effect:
"Populace/USofA - War! War! And more [war] with aspects/attributes of [army], and [bad luck], and the [army carrying (its dead)] in long trains of [carts]that [stretch back] over the [horizon].
...The [war] sub set provides the imagery of [israel] attacking [iran] in the Fall and given the emotional tension shift on October 26th that propels the values through November and December, it would not be surprising to find that the [attacks against (the) victims (iran)] would arise close to that point as modelspace is progressed. The imagery from the detail aspect/attributes would have it play out as an [aerial bombardment] against Iran that is particularly [brutal] and that causes a very high level of [populace deaths] immediately in Iran.
...the [death tolls] to the [usofa military] start to become [known], and the whole situation changes overnight. It is at this point that the [officialdom/political elite] of the [usofa] start to [panic]. The [attacks by israel] have [caused] a nearly [complete cessation of trading (of anything)] at a global level, and the [food supply pressures] as well as the [escalation of death levels], *and* most importantly the attempt by the [political elite] to initiate [sudden, rapid] and [forced] drafting of the populace (both sexes) into the [military] starts the [active] stage of [rebellion] in the [usofa]. The [rebellion] sub set gradually is overtaken into [revolution] as the [bad disasters] grow across November and December. The data sets indicate that the [political elite] will instigate [lethal/deadly attacks] against the [populace/usofa]. "
B'kitsur, the USA is a sinking ship and time to jump ship is quickly running out. The Children of Israel have a homeland given to them by the Master of the Universe. Why should Ya'akov choose to go down with Eisav?

I think that is why, periodically in our history, other tragedies have occurred at this time of year, in order to keep the feelings fresh. In our generation, we have the memories of Gush Katif. If that is not tragedy enough for you to mourn deeply today, then I suggest that you are sadly out of touch with Jewish life. If you can't feel for the destruction of Gush Katif which happened right before your eyes and whose effects we are still experiencing, how could you ever expect to feel anything for the Beit Hamikdash?
It's popular to call for the immediate rebuilding of the Holy Temple, but do you have any idea how very far removed we are from the reality of the Temple in our everyday lives? We are so distant from it, so unprepared for it, that were it to instantly appear, it would destroy us.
Hashem can bring us quickly to the required level, but it would come at a very great sacrifice which we would not willingly choose to suffer. However, we may be forced. Short of that, we can begin moving in the right direction by starting with the most recent tragedies and making our way backwards in time until we find that the path has led us inexorably back to the Beit Hamikdash. Everything with us is a process. In this way, we learn to adjust without being broken. It's important spiritual work. Don't try to escape it, work with it.
Soon, you will find that the purpose of this time period has been fulfilled and the desired goal has been attained. And we will be that much closer to the building of the Third Beit Hamikdash which will never be destroyed.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Two major advocacy groups for the homeless on Tuesday ranked Los Angeles as the "meanest" city in the United States, citing a Skid Row police crackdown they say has criminalized poverty and homelessness there.
L.A.'s so-called Safer City Initiative was singled out in the groups' report as the most egregious example of policies and practices nationwide that essentially punish people for failing to have a roof over their heads.
Others include making it illegal to sleep, sit or store personal belongings on sidewalks and other public spaces; prohibitions against panhandling or begging; and selective enforcement of petty offenses like jaywalking and loitering.
Such measures are widespread in the face of a deep economic recession and foreclosure crisis that have increased homelessness over the past two years, according to the National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty and the National Coalition for the Homeless.
BAGHDAD (AP) — Below-average rainfall and insufficient water in the Euphrates and Tigris rivers have left Iraq bone dry for a second straight year, wrecking swaths of farm land, threatening drinking water supplies and intensifying fierce sandstorms that have coated the country in brown dust.
The drought has dealt a harsh blow to hopes that reductions in sectarian violence over the last year would fuel an economic recovery. Instead, the government's budget suffered a double-hit: Lower than expected oil prices have crimped revenues and the scarcity of water will force Iraq to spend money to import most of the crops, especially wheat and rice, to meet domestic demand.
"Look at this land. There is no water," said Ashur Mohamed Ahmood, slipping the tip of his black cane into deep cracks in his parched field. He cautioned children not to run, fearing their small bare feet would get stuck in the crevices crisscrossing the farm on the outskirts of Baghdad.
"Without water there are no plants. This is the plant," he says, uprooting a weed and throwing it back to the ground.
The prophet Yirmiyahu (Jeremiah) said this about Iraq at the end of days:
(50:12, 38; 51:36, 43) ...behold the end of the nations is desert, wasteland, and a barren plain. ...A drought is upon her waters, and they shall dry up, ....I will dry up her sea and dry up her fountain. ...Her cities became desolate, a dry land and a desert....
Astounding? Amazing? Just keep in mind that the same prophet wrote the following words which will prove to be just as true---
(51:45) ...Go out of its midst, My people, and each one save his life, from the burning wrath of the Lord.
(Paraphrase) The judgment that is befalling the nations is not meant for you. Come home where I've prepared for you a place of protection.
(49:4, 5) ...In those days and in that time, says the Lord, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together; they shall go along weeping, and they shall seek the Lord their God. They shall inquire of Zion; their faces are directed hitherward. "Come and join the Lord [with] an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten."

UK NEWS: This Weather is a Whole New Kettle of Fish
...We no longer live in a land of gentle breeze and drizzle. We live in a land of blazing sun and fierce storms, the like of which we have rarely seen....
...on Tuesday the sky rapidly darkened and a ferocious deluge ensued.
The rain fell in such quantities and with such violence that it seemed hard to believe there wasn’t dark magic behind it. Elsewhere the rain was causing even more chaos – at the Queen’s first garden party of the summer in Buckingham Palace 8,000 guests were suddenly caught out by the sort of biblical downpour only Noah could have been prepared for. Half an inch of rain fell in just 10 minutes so top hats and summer dresses provided little protection from the water and hailstones.
In some areas of the Midlands an entire month’s worth of rain fell in just three hours and in Hastings and St Leonards families had to be evacuated from their homes as the sudden deluge caused floods more than two feet deep.
..."I've been driving in the West Bank; I've been in Gaza," Raz was quoted by the New York Daily News as saying. "I never imagined that New York would be where I'd get hit by a rock. Only G-d knows how much worse it could have been. I'll go to the synagogue on Saturday to say Birkat HaGomel," the blessing said when emerging from danger. Raz added that her daughter and seven-year-old son, who were not in the cab at the time, have been pleading to go back home, "where it's safe. I love New York, but this changed something for me," she added. "I'm scared stiff right now."
'We're in the Middle of a Crash'
The financial system is crashing and action must be taken by the US government to convert debt into equity to produce a more stable environment, Nassim Taleb, author of "The Black Swan," told CNBC Thursday.
"You may have green shoots, whatever you want to call them, you may have temporary relief, but you are still in a world that's breaking," ....
"We're in the middle of a crash," Taleb said. "So if I'm going to forecast something, it is that it's going to get worse, not better."
